GENERAL DESCRIPTION: An excellent single-pack vinyl-base etch primer for ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as galvanised iron and aluminium. The product contains a chromate based corrosion inhibitor, has superior welding properties and adhesion for use in high heat applications such as fireplaces, braai’s etc.
USES: Shop or pre-fabrication primer for protection of metal during transportation, storage and fabrication. Metal primer suitable for use under a wide range of finishing coats. Used interior or exterior.

PHYSICAL FORM: Flammable low viscosity coloured liquid containing pigments

SPREADING RATE: Approximately 7 m² per litre per application

DRYING PROPERTIES: Surface or touch-dry: within 15 minutes
RECOATING TIME: 4 hours depending on conditions and film build
FLASH POINT: < 21°C (Abel Closed Cup method). (Note: Product is highly flammable)
PACKAGING: 1L & 5L
THINNING: If required to reduce viscosity add a minimum quantity of lacquer thinners. (NB. DO NOT add water, mineral turpentine or E–Thinners)
CLEANING: Do not allow the product to dry on equipment. Equipment is readily cleaned using SNK7 or methylated spirits. Lacquer thinners may also be used for cleaning. NOTE: Do not apply paint if it is raining or rain is expected within 4 hours, or if the surface Temperature is below 4°C
APPLICATION METHOD: Supplied ready-for-use using a brush or spray. May also be applied using a Short Pile Glassfibre roller

- IF THE SURFACE IS DAMP (MOISTURE READING ABOVE 15%)
- IF IT IS RAINING OR RAIN IS FORECAST
- BEFORE 9H00 AND AFTER 16H00 IN THE WINTER
HEALTH & SAFETY ADVICE: The product contains a flammable solvent. Precaution must be taken to prevent naked flames coming in contact with vapours (i.e. smoking must be prohibited). Solvents may also cause narcotic effects if the vapour concentration is too high: always ensure adequate ventilation (do not use solvent based paints in a poorly ventilated or closed space). Avoid contact with skin, eyes, mouth etc. Wear protective clothing, goggles & gloves. If body contact is made, rinse off immediately. Wash product off skin before it has dried using soap and water.
